My scientific work includes study of biological and ecological characteristics of bivalves including age and growth, population and community structure, reproduction, feeding and trophic relations. Special attention is devoted to commercially important species and their sustainable exploitation from nature as well as to evaluatinon of potential for introduction of new bivalve species into aquaculture. In collaboration with collegues from the laboratory I also participate in studies of demersal communities.
